Our Story

About Pittsburgh is the area’s oldest and most comprehensive recruitment and relocation consulting company.  About Pittsburgh established a place towards the end of Pittsburgh’s second Renaissance movement, allowing our team to reintroduce “America’s Most Livable City” to a national and international audience.

To date, About Pittsburgh has successfully assisted over 12,000 candidates during their recruitment and relocation process for the region's finest companies and institutions.

About Pittsburgh is a resource tailored for corporations to help them attract and retain key talent. Our services are designed to serve as a distinguished hiring tool for our partner corporations. While the corporations themselves provide candidates with information specific to career positions, our company of professionals help candidates and their families work through the personal needs that come with a relocation decision.

Our 30-year partnership with Pittsburgh's most venerable, successful, and progressive corporations is the greatest testament to our services, and we continue to value the relationships we form with both the clients we work with and the candidates we assist.

Professional Personal Genuine Assistance

Meet the Team

The team at About Pittsburgh loves and believes in Pittsburgh. We come from diverse corporate, ethnic, and personal backgrounds. We are parents, consumers, commuters, homeowners, working spouses, PTA members, mentors, and community volunteers. Some of us were born and raised here, while others fell in love with the city after being relocated themselves. Most importantly, we are Pittsburghers.

Every candidate and family has distinct needs and interests. The diverse experiences of each About Pittsburgh team member helps us to address these requirements.

Dana Fortun

President

Dana is Pittsburgh born and bred. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she began her career with the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, an affiliate of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, where she worked in the International Development department. While working at the PRA, Dana pursued her graduate degree at Duquesne University, graduating with an M.B.A. with a concentration in Human Resources and Ethics in 2004. Dana joined the team at About Pittsburgh in 2005, bringing her background in human resources, international business and economic development, her knowledge and love of the city of Pittsburgh and her genuine enjoyment of helping people…all backbones for moving About Pittsburgh forward.  Dana loves seeing those new to Pittsburgh experience the skyline for the first time and showcasing all the wonderful amenities that Pittsburgh has to offer. Dana is proud to serve as a member of the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation Children’s Trust and is active in the Parent Teacher Organization at her children’s schools. She currently resides in Indiana Township with her husband, Ben, her two children, Mia and Maximus and their Mini-Schnauzer, Millie Mae.

Lisa started with About Pittsburgh in 2013 as an Orientation Specialist. Lisa brings her extensive experience in human resources, database programming, and entrepreneurship to the About Pittsburgh team.  As Lisa was raised in the city of Pittsburgh and moved to the suburbs when she married, she has first hand experience in knowing the differences of urban and suburban living. Lisa enjoys spending time exploring the region with her husband and their four children.

Johnette Belechak

Johnette joined the About Pittsburgh team in 2009.  Prior to coming on board, Johnette worked for US Airways and has extensive experience in retail merchandising.  Johnette’s favorite Pittsburgh activities include shopping in the Strip District and attending many of the region’s cultural events.  A long time Pittsburgh urbanite, Johnette continues to live in the East End neighborhood of Edgewood with her husband and four children.

Marjory Reynolds

Marjory spent her early years in an expat family on assignments in India and the Middle East, and she understands the unique challenges of global relocations. Marjory relocated from the Boston area to Pittsburgh in 2000 when she was introduced to the region by About Pittsburgh! Marjory was so grateful for the help provided by About Pittsburgh that she expressed interest in coming on board and helping others.  Marjory has a background in finance and marketing.  She enjoys gardening, playing tennis, skiing, and attending various Pittsburgh events with her three daughters.

Sarah Beretti

Sarah is Parisian and relocated to Pittsburgh with her husband and son via Switzerland.  Sarah is a welcome addition to the About Pittsburgh team.  Her first hand experience of what it takes to move internationally is an added value to About Pittsburgh’s Global Destination Services.  Although Sarah and her family live in the city, she has made many friends who live in the suburbs of Pittsburgh.

Amy Crist

Amy is a seventh generation Pittsburgher and self-professed "US Steel kid." Her communications career led to posts in broadcast, corporate marketing, and advertising agencies. She believes that Pittsburgh is truly the consummate American city and believes in its bright future. She and her husband reside in Hampton, where they raised their two children, and also relaxes in Cape May NJ or Naples, FL—but will always call the 'Burgh home.

Our concerns are the real life issues and questions that face transferring employees and their families.
